I recently read about Steve Ballmer’s up and coming retirement, and I think he should acquire Pinterest as his next and/or last acquisition for Microsoft.

Pinterest currently has a valuation of $2.5 billion, and Microsoft could easily offer upwards to $3 billion to purchase such a company. It is my belief that Pinterest is well worth $3 billion, because Pinterest has a business model that can easily be tweaked to produce a constant positive revenue stream. To be honest, I’m shocked that Pinterest hasn’t figured out how to capitalize off of its platform yet.

Since Pinterest hasn’t figured out a path to profitability, and doesn’t seem to have any idea how to squeeze meaningful revenue out of their platform without jeopardizing the user experience, such an acquisition would be a positive for both Microsoft and Pinterest.
