With all the technology that’s available now a days, luxury brands should be able to track their merchandise all the way to the point of sale and thereafter.

Anyone buying a luxury item with a MSRP of $1,000 or more should be willing to register such an item to ward off counterfeits, the use of stolen items, etc.

The system would work through a combination of GPS tagging, facial point tagging and/ or body metric tagging for later points of authentication.

If such authentication software were to be created correctly, most people wouldn’t be interested in purchasing counterfeited and/ or stolen luxury goods – especially since wearing such items would be counterproductive to the image that such a person would be trying to portray… And such would also leave them susceptible to legal action.

In general, I believe at a certain price point counterfeits should not be allowed to exist…
