Some of the most entertaining TV ads are movie previews – especially since most movie previews consist of showing some of the best parts of a movie, and by doing so the movie previews almost always portray the movie in such a positive light, that people become convinced that the movie is going to be good.

Most people will watch new movie previews – especially if they’re planning on going to the movies…even if an individual isn’t planning on going to the movies, they will still normally watch movie previews.

Movie previews are probably one of the most watched ads there are. Therefore, it is a surprise to me that advertisers haven’t really been focused on creating ads that look like movie previews, but turn out to be advertisements for products and or services.

The most obvious movie genre that advertisers could focus their attention on would be romance – especially since most advertisers want to show potential customers why they should love the product of service being advertised.

Now I’m not saying advertisers shouldn’t focus their attention on other movie genres, because other movie genres would be perfect for some products and services. For example: A movie preview ad commercial could be based on an action movie concept, in which the fake movie could be about a group of professional burglars, and at the end of the fake movie preview an advertisement for a home security service would be shown.

Most of the time I believe celebrity endorsements are pretty much a waste of money, but I f such a celebrity endorsement was tied into a fake movie preview ad strategy, I would have a different view…and the ad strategy would be a lot more successful then the status quo.

I believe that such an ad strategy would have unlimited potential once it’s first implemented…

I think the hardest movie genre for an advertiser to try and create a fake movie preview ad strategy from would be comedy, because if the comedy play falls flat….well, the product of service might become (turn into) the butt of the joke.

An advertisement strategy based on creating fake movie previews would turn into an obvious success – especially if its created right, features a celebrity, and is played right before a broadcast TV show starts, or in the first commercial slot of the first commercial break.
